ROBIN (Rpc and Object Broker INterface) is a free implementation of CORBA, with an extention to allow RPCs (Remote Procedure Calls) to be defined in OMG IDL, simplifying migration from procedural to object-oriented distributed development. It also extends CORBA by supporting load balancing and redundancy via IP multicasting.
