Network Monitoring
The term network monitoring describes the use of a system that constantly monitors a computer network for slow or failing systems and that notifies the network administrator in case of outages via email, pager or other alarms.

Netcat for NT is the tcp/ip "Swiss Army knife" that never made it into any of the resource kits. It has proved to be an extremely versatile tool on the unix platform. With Netcat for NT part of that feeling disempowerment is over.
