CAD/CAM :
Computer Aided Design is the process of creating industrial product designs using computer software, while Computer Aided Manufacturing uses computers to programme these designs into the equipment that will actually manufacture the products.

cadtools
cadtools is an open-source 3D computer-aided design (CAD) and manufacturing (CAM) toolkit. The aim of the project is to develop an easy-to-use parametric, feature-based solid modeler with a generic geometrical constraint solver sufficiently robust for real-time mechanical simulations over complex assemblies.
We are using the Agar GUI library and the FreeSG 3D engine. Both cadtools and the libraries it uses are available under a BSD license, which will make cadtools particularly suitable for integration into commercial products, such as CNC machinery.
The CAM part of cadtools provides a client interface to the machctl daemon for controlling machinery such as CNC lathes and milling machines.
