Simulation :
Imitating or estimating how events might occur in a real situation. It can involve complex mathematical modeling, role playing without the aid of technology, or combinations. The value lies in the placing you under realistic conditions, that change as a result of behavior of others involved so you cannot anticipate the sequence of events or the final outcome.

SPanCAD
Software for Design of Structural Concrete Walls,
Discontinuities and Box-shaped Structures
SPanCAD is based on AutoCAD, the Strut-and-Tie method and the Stringer-Panel method. The program is a tool for design of reinforced concrete discontinuities, deep beams, walls loaded in plane and box-shaped structures in which membrane stresses are dominant for the performance.
SPanCAD answers questions like
What reinforcement needs a deep beam with a hole ?
How can I avoid ugly cracks in a reinforced concrete wall ?
Is this box-girder section all right for shear and torsion ?
SPanCAD enables a structural designer to draw a simple model of a concrete structure or structural element, perform various analysis and interpret the performance graphically. It can compute deflections, force distributions, crack widths, ultimate loads and ductility taking into account yielding of reinforcement and cracking or crushing of concrete. In subsequent design cycles, modifications can be easily made to shape, dimensions and reinforcement. The program proposes dimensions and provides a procedure for quick convergence of the design process.
