LASI (LAyout System for Individuals) is a "general purpose" IC layout and design system. It was not specifically intended for CMOS logic circuits, but most people use it for that purpose. LASI can also draw and analyze schematics and can be used for much of the graphical documentation of an IC project. LASI is not intended for mechanical or architectural drawing.

LASI consists of a main drawing program and several "utility" programs. These utilities include GDS, CIF and DXF format converters, a bitmap based design rule checker and a graphical Spice compiler that extracts Spice circuit files from both schematic and layout.
