ROADS
ROADS was a collaborative development project, funded under the Electronic Libraries Programme, to design and implement a user-oriented resource discovery system. The result was the ROADS toolkit, a freely available and configurable kit for building information gateways. Although the original ROADS project has finished, the toolkit is being maintained, as open-source software, by an informal consortium of developers with expertise in network-based resource identification, indexing and cataloguing. ILRT remains a centre of expertise in the use of ROADS and has built several ROADS based services for a variety of clients.
