Audio, Video Streaming
Streaming:
Playing video or sound in real time as it is downloaded over the Internet. Data is decompressed and played (by use of a web browser plug-in) as it is transferred to your computer over the World Wide Web. Streaming requires a powerful computer and fast connection since the file is not stored on your computer.

LIVE.COM Streaming Media
"LIVE.COM Streaming Media" libraries contains special support for 'injecting' encoded video and/or audio streams into a Darwin Streaming Server, for subsequent playing by (potentially multiple) RTSP clients.
Using these libraries, which can be used on both Windows and Unix (including Linux and Mac OS X), you can build your own applications - analogous to "QuickTime Broadcaster" - that stream encoded audio/video data through a Darwin Streaming Server.
